I can't thank enough this hospital and the Myeloma team, especially Dr. Kukreti and Dr. Sahar Khan. I felt very safe and hopeful when being treated by them. The staff at the information desk are simply angels! They went above and beyond helping me in my first visit... All the staff have always been extremely kind and professional and treated me with such care that made it so easy for me and my family to get through the cancer. Princess Margaret hospital was and is the safest place in the world for me where I know I am cared for and I feel at heaven. Don't know how to ever thank them enough....
Dr aaron schimmer has been my mothers hematologist for the last 9 years. I can' give him enough praise for the kindness and care he has given me and my entire family at each and every visit with him. He has not lost an ounce of compassion when dealing with his patience. He is/ was always looking for the best treatment options for my mother and continued to care for her as all doctors should. God bless him.
Sept 29 .1999 ( 20) years ago I had bone marrow transplant, I was diagnosed with leukemia CML. My brother was a perfect match, and he came from Poland to save my life. I am here today because of him and the doctors. Dr.J.Lipton was the first dr I've meet in the hospital and he prepared me for the whole procedure. Later on I've meet dr. Messner, Dr. Dailey, Dr. Kiss and all those wonderful nurses Nancy, Silvana..... Those people were working so hard to save other people lives . No matter how many times I said thank you I know it's not enough. They are amazing team and they deserve a big respect from us,survivors, our family's and the whole country even the world. Thank you so much for giving me my life back , thank you for your hard work. I also want to mention the new generation of young doctors who are taking over. I wish them lots of success in the work they doing .God Bless you all.
If it wasn’t for PMH, I would not have a chance to treat my recurrent breast cancer in my armpit. Dr. Wey Leong and his team were the best. I came here for a second opinion, he performed the surgery that was turned down by another surgeon because it was “too risky “, and he did it with ease. He had the support of a very caring team of nurses and assistants. This place gives hope to people. I can’t imagine working in a place where giving bad diagnoses and working with deadly cancers happen day after day. PMH is having a lot of renovations so hopefully the facilities will be better in the future.
As a patient in two of the hospital's clinics, I have had a mixed experience. Every oncologist with whom I have dealt in the G.I. clinic has been amazing. Each of them has treated me with respect and has been willing to answer questions. They have also been compassionate. My experience in dealing with doctors in the melanoma clinic has been abysmal. They have been patronizing and condescending without exception. Compassion has not been the long suit of any of the doctors with whom I have dealt. A lab rat might be treated better. To any patient of this clinic, my advice is to seek a second opinion and do your own research before undergoing treatment. Your life depends on it. Don't expect the doctors to give a damn. To them, you are just another subject in a science experiment. As for cleanliness, PMH is the filthiest hospital that I have ever visited.
My brother was diagnosed with liver cancer. pathology was wrong as per top cancer center in USA. By the time we got the pathology results. Wrong Chemo was provided to him. He died very shortly. I have read so many wrong pathology results from this hospital which is very serious and results in deaths of many. Patient affairs covered up the mistakes.
My brother was diagnosed with Leukemia and admitted October 30. After a valiant fight he passed away on March 15. The only tIme he left PMH during this time was to go to Mount Sinai ICU (3 times). From day one, the care, treatment, attention, dignity that my brother received from EVERYONE at PMH and Mount Sinai was excellent. I would like to thank Dr. Rostov, Dr. Shuh and Matt (physiotherapist) for all that they did. I wish I could remember everyone’s names as they deserve the individual recognition as well. W
