After filling in the medical form I was tested by Jeff and then met with Jason Kemp. Jeff patiently explained the test results and meaning to me. Jason went over the results with me as well. He explained how my hearing loss may impact my ability to understand what is going on around me. He was very kind and did not try to push any products. He left the final decision to me.

I've gone to see Jason for a number of years. He's got a great understanding of hearing loss, partly because he has experienced it himself and knows how to customize his client's hearing aides and not just apply typical 'pre-packaged' curves. He has always been extremely helpful, friendly, and accommodating. Staff are friendly and great to deal with. Their personal attention and excellent service is worth highlighting. The products they sell are top-of-the-line and quite frankly...you get what you pay for.

Dr. Kemp (after 7 audiologists) reached into my life and gave me hope. My profound loss came about suddenly and after searching I finally found someone that treated me like a patient and not a customer. He has been with me every step of the way and has advocated for me with my disability and career situations. Yes quality precision computers in your ears is expensive and MB is not covered but I am thankful for this technology and Dr. Kemp's experience, knowledge and kindness. Thank you Jason you have changed my life.

BEWARE! This is not a "Family Owned and Operated clinic". His first location was bought out by HEARINGLIFE and masqueraded as "family owned" for many years while fooling patients. Then he opened up again as "Family Owned" again...but quickly sold his patients AGAIN, this time to AMPLIFON! No longer locally owned and never really was!! With this kind of Corporate masking going on behind the scenes... did Kemp ever really have his patients best interests in mind? or was he only interested in making a $5000 profit on his $7000 retail price? After seeing six audiologist, I can describe Jason as one of a kind. He’s the only audiologist that I’ve been to that truly listened and ‘normalized’ all I experience as a hearing impaired person. The technology of the hearing aides he recommends are state of the art. More important, he knows how to maximize their potential to offer as ‘normal’ a hearing experience as possible. He may not always be punctual, but know that when he sees you, he is fully present. To me that means more than punctuality. It speaks of individualized attention for the individual and ensuring the best of care.

I am flabbergasted by all the negative comments about Dr. Kemp. His staff refer to him as an “audiologist” and he calls himself a “doctor of audiology”. Not once did he pretend he is a physician. I am guessing those who thought so should be angry at themselves for not knowing that. I went to this place for a hearing test for myself and an RCMP checkup for my husband. My test was free of charge and even though o went there firmly believing I have a problem, he told me I don’t and sent me my way. There is a charge for completing forms but he didn’t even charge my husband, and asked the front desk to refund him. He was professional, knowledgeable, passionate, and the fact that he is hearing impaired himself makes him sympathize with you. It felt like he really cared and went the extra mile. I haven’t purchased anything from him yet, so I can’t comment on prices but I will be going back to him for checkups. He was half an hour late for us but apologizes and explained that he had an accident that day.

Dr. Kemp is very kind and supportive. He really knows his stuff and explains everything clearly. But he also listens well. I give him five stars!

I initially discovered Jason Kemp in his Kennedy St office back in 2008. WCB had finally approved my claim for hearing aids and he was close to my work. From the start he was personable and knowledgeable (he suffers from tinnitus) so he had a good idea of what I went through so I chose him for my first set of hearing aids. Later, he was able to upgrade my 3 year old hearing aids through WCB to Bluetooth technology which enhanced my hearing experience even more. I was disappointed when he sold to a national chain and took a hiatus from the business for a few years. After 3 sad years with the national chain, I was disappointed with their one-on-one performance and was left with failing hearing aids for 18 months with little end in site. One luck day I clicked on an old link on my PC for Kemp Hearing and to my surprise I was directed to their present site. Soon after I had it out with the national chain people and decided to go back to Kemp Hearing. Within 8 days of calling, I was back to re-unite with Jason (he remembered me specifically) at the Waverly location. Walked out that day with near fully repaired Hearing Aids (for Free) and the paperwork initiated with WCB to upgraded my 5 year old units. Five weeks later I was fitted with my present set and all has been well since June 2017. My experience will likely differ from someone that's not covered by WCB but I would expect that Kemp Hearing would recommend the latest technology to a new client prior to suggesting downgraded equipment for affordability sake. Things like battery life and Bluetooth technology have improved so much sine 2008 when I got my first pair of Oticons. I recommend you include him in your initial list of consultations with hearing solution providers. Ask them all the hard/right questions and I think you'll chose Kemp Hearing. Peter T.
