Ratings for Dr. Nicholas Escott
Dr. Escott said so its been 10 years since my last appointment, it's a fact, but he made it feel like going to see an old friend. He is patient, and you do not feel rushed, and he takes the time to explain and to listen. His staff and nurses are the same. I really appreciate how they helped me through a moment of anxiety during the appointment. I left feeling assured everything is ok, and confident if any results come back with concerns he and his staff will get me through it.
Dr. Escott is an intelligent and knowledgeable pathologist. He analyzed my biopsy and gave me the bad news with a lengthy, understandable, and truthful explanation. His demeanor as an OBGYN is no different - he's caring, compassionate, and explains everything clearly. In addition, he's just a wonderful person. His nursing staff / assistants are always kind, and Leanne and the staff at the Ambulatory Care desk are wonderful. They return calls promptly and are very efficient. Dr. Escott never rushes you out of his office and always has time for patient questions and concerns. Quite frankly, I will be devastated when he retires.
I found DR. Escott to be very kind, caring and knowledgeable, but after waiting for 2 months to see him at his colposcopy clinic, I was very anxious. His appointments are booked every 15 minutes, so the hour wait at the hospital and another half hour, with a sheet wrapped around my waist, sitting in a cubicle, only heightened my anxiety. His admitting nurse was very comforting, but did not prepare me for the discomfort of the procedure. Everyone's pain tolerance varies, but I was not expecting the burning sensation of acetic acid on my cervix, nor the painful procedure that followed, especially since I was told "it will not hurt". If you are old enough to require a colposcopy, you should be truthfully told what to expect I had been informed of the expected vaginal discharge following, but not that it would last for several days, accompanied by cramps and nausea for the next 24 hours. I gather Dr. Escott's assistant is there strictly to assist him. She was very impersonal and of no support to me. Now, a wait of 4 weeks before I am to phone for my results. These comments are made in the hope of seeing improvements in the system
I travelled to see Dr Escott and was so happy I did by the end of it all. He was kind, caring and most importantly gentle. He was knowledgable and I felt as though he was willing to listen to what I had to say. Couldn't have asked for someone better to do my colposcopy. His receptionist Cheryl was kind of abrupt at first but after calling a few times she not only remembered me but was very kind and helpful. This team is what all doctors should acheive to be. Thank you for making something scary into good experience.
